Empowering Rural India Through Holistic Education and Excellence
Here comes the important role of schools and educators. Appropriate ambience for education in schools and proper training and guidance by the educators can easily achieve the goal of generating “sparks” in young minds.
A holistic approach in this field helps in the overall development of students, which will enable them to contribute towards the formation of a bright career, which in turn will lay foundation for a constructive nation building.
The Father of our Nation has rightly said, “The heartbeat of India lies in the rural population and to understand India, it is better to understand the rural sector of India”.
Like whatever aspirations, the urban population possesses, the same aspirations can be observed among the rural population also. But opportunities are limited to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. So it is the primary duty of every fortunate citizen, i.e. those who are fortunate enough to fulfill their dreams and aspirations, to contribute, in whatever little way possible, to raise the standard of living of the rural population.
Education plays an important role as far as the quality of life is concerned. With this objective in mind, a group of academicians joined hands, under the banner of a trust named, “St. Stephen’s Foundation Trust”, Vadodara, to take up the MISSION of serving the rural masses by providing true education through the medium of English with NCERT curriculum prescribed by CBSE, Delhi.
This School was established in the year 2006 with a motto of “Leadership, Teaching & Service”.
During this short span of service in the field of education in the rural sector of Gujarat, the school could achieve excellence in various fields like academics, sports & games, awareness of hygiene, awareness in nutritious food habits, awareness of exercise for a healthy body and a sound mind etc.
In academic field students have excelled, achieving 100% success with 100% distinctions in CBSE exams, since the inception of Class X in the school.
Sports & National Talent Search Exam
In sports and games, our students have won cash awards, trophies, and certificates in the district & state levels of the rural zone. Our students actively participate in large numbers in the state event of “Khel Mahakhumb” sponsored by the Ministry of Sports, Govt. of Gujarat, and won laurels for the school. Our Hockey team and Karate team are taking part in the District and the State level (rural zone)and have proved their excellence. Many team members have been selected for the district as well as the state team for further levels of competition.
In the National Talent Search Exam, students of our school achieved high scores. Our students took part in National-level Painting and Handwriting competitions organized by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Gyanpeeth and came out with flying colours.
Our counselors help the students to identify their inherent talents, and our school provides an appropriate platform to help develop those talents. The school also provides proper training and guidance to the students to maintain hygiene in their homes and on the school premises. Under the Union Government’s scheme of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” our students have been trained and motivated to keep their surroundings neat and clean. Our students are actively involved in “Tree Plantation” to maintain greenery in the surroundings.
Under “Beti Padao Abhiyan” and “Rural Girl Empowerment Scheme,” our school has taken the initiative to spread awareness among the rural families, to send their daughters to school for better education, and, in turn, for a dignified life in the future. As a result of this initiative, our school has recorded a large enrollment of girl students from Standard-I onwards, and we are proud to say that they are doing very well in their academic, co-curricular activities, and leadership roles.
Our students are trained and motivated to “care for and share with” their fellow students by donating clothes, food, and a small amount of money to the needy. Our School has installed a special “Help Box”, wherein the students donate some amount on their birthday, which is utilized to donate to various “Relief Funds” sponsored by Central and State Government programs. Our students generously contribute to the National Blind Day Fund every year.
Our School organizes various programs on Independence Day & Republic Day to inculcate true patriotic values in the young minds. Most of the Indian Festivals (Religious & Cultural) are celebrated in the School in its true spirit and with gaiety. To develop interest in science among our students, they have been encouraged and trained in making various science projects (working & non-working). Various competitions like Elocution (extempore), Singing, Quiz (science, general, language) have been conducted in the school to bring their talents to the limelight.
The annual sports day is specially organized to provide a platform to all students to enable them to bring their sporting talents to the fore. Awards & certificates are given away to the winners. The School has provided appropriate infrastructure for true ambience in class room learning, audio-visual facility, computer lab, science labs, math lab, language lab, library cum reading room retiring room, adequate number of washrooms separately for girls and boys, canteen facility, pure drinking water, playground, assembly area, administrative block, staff room, front office, parking area, garden, etc.
The School has recruited and appointed well-qualified, trained, and talented educators to train and guide the students to accomplish the Mission & Vision of the School. The Management of the School is also very keen in accomplishing the task. Under the able and administrative leadership of the current Principal, our journey is forward in full swing to achieve that Goal. We strongly believe that a collective effort of the Management, Principal, Teachers, and all other supporting staff is essential to achieve the “Mission”. In this journey, the sincere and meaningful contribution of teachers is highly inevitable. Thu,s a school can become a “Temple of Learning”.
